The PIKO 50765 is a very special highlight for all H0 enthusiasts and friends of Eastern European railroad history: The Polish State Railways (PKP) steam locomotive TKt48 - factory-equipped with sound decoder, digitally switchable lighting and functional steam generator. This powerful tender locomotive was an integral part of transportation in the low mountain regions of Poland for decades and is now an impressive, detailed and technically sophisticated model.

History meets high-tech - the prototype

Between 1950 and 1957, 191 units of the TKt48 series were built in the Fablok and Cegielski factories. Thanks to its high friction mass, reversibility at 80 km/h in both directions and robust construction, it was the ideal mountain locomotive for branch lines. Although their use officially ended in 1989, more than a dozen machines have been preserved - as part of Poland's technical heritage.

The locomotive features numerous lovingly designed elements: Wind deflectors, fine brake linkage, die-cast zinc wheels, window inserts and a completely open interior with detailed driver's cab equipment.
