Are you looking for a highly detailed H0 steam locomotive from Era II that combines a unique Austrian history with the classic DRB design? The Piko 50803 Class 56.34-35 Steam Locomotive with Kobel Chimney brings a distinctive hot-steam locomotive from the Deutsche Reichsbahn to the model railroad.
The prototype was developed starting in 1917 as the successor to the Class 170. The Rh 270 featured a shortened boiler with only one steam dome, while the frame and power unit were largely carried over from the proven Class 170.
Following the annexation of Austria, the Deutsche Reichsbahn took over the fleet in 1938 and designated the locomotives as Class 56.3401–3500. The model faithfully reproduces this Era II version and impresses with numerous finely crafted details.
The version with a Kobel chimney, alternator, and BBÖ-style feed and air pumps gives the locomotive its characteristic appearance. Delicate running boards, handrails, sand discharge pipes, and many separate lines ensure a high-quality model appearance.
The locomotive features a NEM 658 PluX22 interface and is prepared for retrofitting with a digital decoder. This allows for digital control of the cab lighting, undercarriage lighting, and firebox flickering.
Get the Piko 50803 H0 Steam Locomotive BR 56.34-35 and expand your Era II collection with a finely detailed model featuring a Kobel chimney, a PluX22 interface, and a strong resemblance to the prototype.
