About the original: The class 152 locomotives are electric locomotives from the ES64 EuroSprinter type family from the manufacturer Siemens, which are primarily used for heavy freight traffic, but can also be used for passenger traffic. The first model was delivered to DB for testing on December 10, 1996. 3 further test models followed in the second half of 1997. 172 locomotives were built in total from 1996-2001, 170 of which went to DB and 2 to the leasing company Dispolok, which sold the two locomotives on to the company ITL in 2005.
About the model: Piko reproduces one of these two ITL locomotives with this model. Visually, the model perfectly reflects the characteristics of locomotive construction in the 1990s. These include the large side surfaces and the smooth roof, which are complemented by various filigree components such as detailed pantographs, free-standing grab irons and running gear components. The look is completed by the precise, true-to-original paintwork of the ITL. The model is driven by a powerful motor with flywheel mass, which ensures excellent running characteristics. With a Plux22 interface, the model can be easily retrofitted with a digital decoder and a loudspeaker.
