The Piko H0 AC sound dual-power locomotive BR 248 "Vectron Dual Mode" in the PRESS version brings the latest railroad technology to your AC system on an authentic model scale. The Vectron Dual Mode from Siemens Mobility presented in 2019 combines diesel drive with electric overhead line supply and stands for sustainable, flexible railroad operation of the future - now also as a detailed model with PIKO TrainSound® sound decoder and mfx® compatibility.

Highest model technology for Märklin systems

The locomotive has digitally switchable cab, engine room and cab lighting. The sound decoder (PluX22) is installed at the factory and provides realistic sounds. Other highlights include a metal scissor pantograph, freely rotating roof fan wheel, fine fan grilles and free-standing details such as handrails and windshield wipers. The engine room is visible and the bogies are detailed.

Vectron Dual Mode - hybrid concept for the present day

The BR 248 successfully bridges the gap between diesel and electric traction. Operators such as PRESS use this technology specifically to operate flexibly on electrified and non-electrified lines - without changing locomotives. The PIKO model reflects this technological progress in every respect.
