With the Piko 51433 electric locomotive BR V 43, known as "Szili", Piko brings an iconic electric locomotive of the Hungarian state railroad MAV (Magyar Államvasutak) to the model railway layout. The class V 43, affectionately known as "Szili", is a silicon rectifier locomotive and one of the best-known electric locomotives in Eastern Europe. It was developed from the 1960s onwards and was instrumental in the electrification progress of the Hungarian state railroad MAV. The H0-gauge electric locomotive is equipped with a powerful motor and two flywheels to ensure smooth and quiet running. The locomotive is equipped with LED lighting that allows the lights to change depending on the direction of travel (white/red). The decoder has a PluX22 interface that allows easy retrofitting and expansion of digital functions.
With a length over buffers of 180 mm, the locomotive is an impressive model on any H0 layout and can easily negotiate tight radii from 358 mm. The couplings are equipped according to the NEM standard and allow flexible connection with other wagons and locomotives. The H0 gauge (1:87) allows a detailed reproduction of the BR V 43, which is also compact enough for dense track layouts and smaller layouts.
