Form variant of the German Federal Railroad's class E 94 in Era III.

The model takes into account the special details of its prototype and reproduces them exactly on a scale of 1:87. The harmonious lighting in the two driver's cabs and in the engine room can be switched digitally and set the interior fittings of the locomotive perfectly in scene. A PSD XP sound decoder is installed ex works for this purpose, including the largest possible loudspeaker for excellent sound reproduction.

The model bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital command stations, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
