Molded version of the DB class 117 as an E 17 in Era III.
The model reproduces the striking shapes of the prototype true to scale. The locomotive is also impressive in its details, as it has delicate handrails and roof lines as well as free-standing sandboxes and springs. The specific features of the prototype were taken into account when creating the model, including the front design and the three-part front windows. Technically, the PIKO model has its finger on the pulse of the times and has silky-smooth running characteristics, good tractive power and a light change fitted as standard. Like the lighting in the driver's cab and engine room, this is designed using the latest LED technology. The locomotive is equipped ex works with a suitable PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker.
The model bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark. A new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital command stations. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
