Piko 51585 electric locomotive BR 187, Stern & Hafferl, Ep. VI (digital, no sound) AC Product Details

Description

In October 2018, Stern & Hafferl took delivery of the new 187 333 "Last Mile" in the company's own design, replacing the previously used Railpool 187 315. It is mainly used to haul trains between the Gmunden and Ebensee cement works for RailCargo Austria. The class 187, the first representative of what is now Bombardier's third Traxx series, is a state-of-the-art electric bogie locomotive for systems with 15 kV and 16.7 Hz as well as 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current. A special feature of the new locomotive is its 180 kW auxiliary diesel engine, which enables it to travel at around 50 km/h over short connecting sections not covered by overhead lines.

The PIKO model of the 187 has the following highlights: finest paintwork and printing | die-cast metal frame | partially attached hand grips | profiled wheel tires | with fine pantographs | cab lighting and LED light change white-red, digitally switchable with PluX22 decoder | motor with two flywheels | high tractive effort due to 2 traction tires | digital interface PluX22 | sound can be retrofitted; chassis is prepared for loudspeaker mounting.
