With the Piko 51618 ET21 electric locomotive, PIKO brings a detailed model of the PKP's first series-produced electric freight locomotive to your H0 DC layout. The vehicle symbolizes the beginning of electric traction in heavy freight traffic in Poland from the late 1950s. In the Era III version, the model impresses with the highest precision in the reproduction, digital upgradeability and operational LED technology.

Strong role model with a long career

Series production of the ET21 began in 1958 at Pafawag in Breslau. A total of 658 units were built by 1971 - designed for a maximum speed of 100 km/h and designed for heavy freight service. Even after being taken out of service by the PKP, numerous locomotives remained in service with private operators. The PIKO ET21 faithfully reproduces this prototype with the finest details and typical design.

Outstanding detailing for the highest demands

The roof equipment with free-standing lines and superstructures, separately attached grab rails, etched checker plates and fine windshield wipers on the front make the model a real eye-catcher. The engine room can be viewed realistically through differently arranged side windows - with digitally switchable lighting. The cab lighting can also be digitally controlled separately.

Digitally prepared and sound-capable

Equipped with a NEM 658 PluX22 interface, the ET21 is prepared for retrofitting with a PIKO sound decoder (#56589) and the largest possible loudspeaker. The direction of travel-dependent light change in white/red and the digital light functions offer plenty of scope for realistic operation on modern digital systems.

Solid technology for reliable use

With a length over buffers of 193 mm, a minimum radius of 358 mm and a powerful drive concept, the locomotive masters both branch lines and main lines with ease. The NEM shaft coupling with close coupler link ensures optimum train connections.
