With the newly designed PIKO 1044/1144, authentic models of the high order numbers of this series will also be available in 1:87 for the first time. The characterful locomotive face of the former ÖBB showpiece has been excellently captured in the model realization, as has the striking side section of the vehicles, which, with the pronounced beading and the typical "portholes", posed quite a challenge for the mold construction. The resulting impression of an ideal visual effect is continued in the bogies of the locomotive. Last but not least, the new 1044 is technically impressive: A five-pole PIKO motor with two finely balanced flywheels on its shaft ensures smooth propulsion. The center conductor version of the model is factory-equipped with an mfx-capable digital decoder. The nowadays obligatory light change has been implemented using modern LED technology. However, the lighting of the driver's cab and driver's desk, which is also available on the PIKO model and can be switched in digital mode, is not a matter of course.
