Description

Version of the Rh 1044 in the ÖBB version in Era IV. The characterful locomotive face of the former ÖBB showpiece was excellently captured in the model realization, as was the striking side section of the vehicles, which with the pronounced beading and the typical "portholes" posed quite a challenge for the mold construction. The resulting impression of an ideal visual effect is continued in the bogies of the locomotive. Last but not least, the new 1044 is technically impressive: a five-pole PIKO motor with two finely balanced flywheels on its shaft ensures smooth propulsion. Model railroaders who prefer digital operation benefit from the PluX22 sound decoder already installed in the sound version at the factory. The light change, which is obligatory today, has been implemented using modern LED technology, as has the attractive driver's cab illumination. However, the lighting of the driver's cab, which is also available on the PIKO model and can be switched in digital mode, is not a matter of course. For the first time, the locomotive appears in its original version with locomotive signs, type VI pantographs, round buffers and four sandboxes.
