The PIKO Rh 1044 electric loc omotive in the version of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) from Era V is a high-precision replica of one of ÖBB's best-known locomotives. The model has been realized true to detail on a scale of 1:87 and impresses with its striking appearance and technical sophistication. The PIKO Rh 1044 is powered by a five-pole motor equipped with two finely balanced flywheel masses, which results in particularly smooth running. The locomotive is driven over all four axles, with two traction tires arranged diagonally on the inside running axles of the bogies to increase tractive power and maximize traction. This technology ensures stable performance, even with heavier trains.
The model is illuminated using modern LED technology, which ensures uniform and long-lasting lighting. The model is equipped with a light change depending on the direction of travel, in which the 3 headlights and the 2 tail lights change between white and red light depending on the direction of travel. The cab lighting and the driver's desk lighting can also be switched digitally, which makes the model even more realistic and makes it a flexible component of your model railroad.
The Rh 1044 was developed by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) in the 1970s as a multi-system electric locomotive for freight and passenger services. With an output of 6,000 kW and a maximum speed of 160 km/h, the locomotive was designed for heavy train service on the electrified lines of the ÖBB. Its striking design and high performance made the Rh 1044 one of ÖBB's best-known locomotives, which is still used today in many areas of the Austrian railroad network.
