Piko 51694 H0-electric locomotive BR 103 kurze Ausführung, DB, Ep.IV, AC Sound Product Details

Description

PIKO H0 electric locomotive class 103 DB short version - classic of era IV with the latest digital technology

The class 103 is one of the most legendary locomotives of the German Federal Railroad. With the short version of the BR 103 in Era IV, PIKO is launching a model with great attention to detail that is both visually and technically impressive. The prototype of this design variant was used in the 1970s in high-quality express train service and is still very popular among model train enthusiasts today. In this conversion, you will experience a high-quality H0 model with digital equipment and certified mfx® compatibility.

Robust construction and fine details

The model is based on a heavy die-cast metal frame, which not only ensures excellent running smoothness, but also provides the necessary traction for driving. The finely detailed body impresses with precise engravings, filigree elements and an absolutely high-quality paint finish with sharp printing. The metal single-arm pantographs, which give the roof a realistic appearance and emphasize the filigree overall effect, are particularly eye-catching.

Outstanding driving characteristics thanks to modern drive technology

A five-pole motor with ball bearings and two flywheel masses ensures even power transmission and particularly smooth driving characteristics. The high tractive force is supported by two traction tires, which provide additional traction on challenging terrain. With a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive can be used flexibly on most H0 layouts.

Digital equipment with certified "fits mfx®" decoder

The locomotive is factory-fitted with a powerful PluX22 sound decoder that has been certified with the "fits mfx®" quality mark. This decoder has been specially tested to be fully compatible with all current Märklin digital command stations. It offers a comprehensive sound package, including realistic driving sounds and other typical locomotive functions. A large loudspeaker provides impressive sound.

Switchable lighting and light change

Energy-saving LEDs change the light in white and red depending on the direction of travel. The model also has digitally switchable driver's cab lighting that can be conveniently controlled via the PluX22 decoder. This means that the model can be staged not only when running but also when stationary and looks impressively realistic, especially in the dark.

Conclusion: A must for fans of Era IV

The PIKO BR 103 electric locomotive in the short version brings a piece of Bundesbahn history to your model railway layout. With its robust construction, finest appearance, powerful drive and state-of-the-art digital technology, it offers everything that demanding model railroaders expect. The "fits mfx®" quality mark guarantees problem-free integration into digital systems and makes this model the ideal choice for Märklin and multi-system drivers.
