The prototype of the PIKO model of the E 40.11 in the version in green paint with rain gutter, double lamp, DB logo only on the sides and with front handrails convinces with its successful head shape without disturbing mold parting edges, free-standing handle bars and filigree pantographs. In addition, the digitally switchable cab lighting is fitted as standard. The five-pole motor provides excellent running characteristics with two large flywheel masses and current collection via eight wheels. To ensure high tractive effort, the PIKO model has, in addition to the zinc die-cast frame, two traction tires that sit on the inside running axles of both bogies in a diagonal arrangement to each other. The model has a PluX22 interface, light change white / red and close coupling kinematics. The PIKO E 40.11 is prepared for retrofitting with a sound decoder.
