Printed version of the class 140 in the BayernBahn version in Era VI.

The model has digitally switchable cab lighting installed as standard. The five-pole motor ensures excellent running characteristics with two large flywheel masses and power pick-up via eight wheels. To ensure a high tractive force, the PIKO model has two traction tires in addition to the die-cast zinc frame, which are located on the inside axles of both bogies in a diagonal arrangement to each other. The model has a PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker ex works.

The model bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark. A new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital command stations. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
