Variant of the DB class 181.2 with Luxembourg lettering in Era IV.
The PIKO model of the important multi-system locomotive series 181.2 shows all the relevant details of its prototype and impresses with the finest paintwork and printing, raised nameplates on the sides, specially attached front handles and door handle bars, sharply engraved bogie covers, fine insulators and pantographs with different collector strips. The lighting is provided by LEDs. The driver's cab and engine room lighting installed as standard can be controlled digitally with a PluX22 decoder, as can the marker lights, which work depending on the direction of travel. A powerful five-pole motor with flywheels, which drives all four axles, ensures excellent driving characteristics. The heavy PIKO model has two traction tires and a heavy die-cast zinc frame for high tractive forces. The PIKO 181.2 has a matching PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker ex works.
The model bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
