With the Piko 52077 Desiro BR 642 diesel railcar from DB AG, you can get a modern vehicle for local transportation in H0 on your DC layout. In the true-to-original design of the "Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate" network of Era VI, this model impresses with a high level of detailing, well thought-out equipment and realistic appearance - perfect for current model railroad operation.
The two-car multiple unit is designed exactly in the appearance of the modern DB AG and features a harmonious paint scheme and detailed interior fittings. A clear view through the passenger compartment emphasizes the prototypical implementation. The switchable interior lighting also provides an atmospheric display at dusk and at night.
Equipped with an NEM 652 digital interface, the model is ready for retrofitting with a suitable digital decoder. If you also want to equip the railcar with authentic sound, you can easily install the PIKO sound decoder #56581 - for an even more realistic driving experience.
With a clearance of 479 mm, two traction tires and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the model offers excellent running characteristics. A special coupling for multiple traction is included - this means that the Desiro can easily be operated in double traction, as is also the case with the prototype.
Whether in solo operation or as double traction: The BR 642 is the ideal choice for realistic operating scenarios in today's rail traffic. The railcar is particularly suitable for branch lines and regional railroads with a high recognition value.
The Piko 52077 Desiro brings modern everyday railroad traffic to your layout - with a clear look, technical preparation and harmonious detailing. Now available in the model railroad store!
