With the Piko H0 class 211 diesel locomotive in the VLTJ (Vestjyske Jernbaner) version, you get a striking version of the popular German Federal Railroad diesel locomotive for international operation. The class V 100 locomotives were in service from 1961 and replaced numerous steam locomotives on branch lines. In Denmark, the class 211 continued to be operated by the VLTJ - PIKO is now bringing this variant to your layout as an Era V model with loving details.
The model impresses with digitally switchable driver's cab lighting (can be retrofitted), detailed center cab equipment and finely etched fan grilles. The cooling system with freely rotating fan wheel, free-standing hand and handle bars as well as the harmonious paintwork in VLTJ look make the locomotive a special piece. The white/red light change depending on the direction of travel is included as standard.
Originally designed for light train service, the V 100 was soon used on numerous DB branch lines. The robust locomotive also found its way internationally - including to the Danish VLTJ. The variant shown here is an example of the cross-border use of proven technology.
The model has an NEM 658 PluX22 interface for easy digitization. A PIKO sound decoder (#56624) can be retrofitted and brings prototypical sounds to the layout.
For fans of international railroad variants, branch line enthusiasts and model railroaders with a focus on operational diversity in Era V. Also ideal for rural scenarios, shunting tasks or cross-border regional traffic.
