Piko 52118 H0 Diesellok BR 228, DR, Ep. V, „Sparlackierung“ Product Details

Description

Piko 52118 H0 Diesel locomotive BR 228, DR, Ep. V, "economy paint scheme" - Six-axle power with historic flair

The Piko 52118 BR 228 diesel locomotive in the so-called "economy paint scheme" represents a particularly authentic version of the German State Railroad from Era V. In the transition period to DB AG, many vehicles wore reduced paintwork with simplified lettering - like this model of the six-axle locomotive, which is ideal for realistic railroad landscapes of the 1990s.

Realized prototypically - the long V 180 in era V

The BR 228 differs clearly from its four-axle sister series with its three-axle bogies, longer frames and a modified arrangement of fans and windows. The PIKO model implements these features exactly and thus brings a real heavyweight of the DR fleet to your H0 DC layout.

Easy to retrofit digitally

Thanks to the integrated NEM 652 interface, the model can be easily digitized with an 8-pole decoder. For an acoustic upgrade, retrofitting with the PIKO sound decoder #56557 is also possible - an ideal option for model railroaders who prefer individual control and sound solutions.

Proven technology for reliable operation

With two traction tires and a solid drive concept, the locomotive is ideally suited for use in freight and passenger trains. The white/red light change depending on the direction of travel increases the authenticity of operation. The locomotive masters all radii from 358 mm without any problems and can be flexibly integrated into existing train systems.

Economical paintwork with charm - ideal for transition scenarios

The discreet color scheme with transitional lettering gives the model a historical character. It goes perfectly with train sets from the reunification period or as a representative of the last DR fleet before the takeover by DB AG - a must for model railroaders interested in history.

Now in the model railway store - BR 228 with a clear line and strong presence

Bring the six-axle BR 228 in transitional design to your layout with the Piko 52118 - now available, digitally retrofittable and ready for use in demanding shunting and track services!
