With the Piko 52149 BR 798 railcar set + VS 998 driving trailer, PIKO brings the popular rail bus of the Deutsche Bundesbahn in its Epoch V version as the "Ulmer Spatz" in a mint green color scheme to your H0 DC layout. The model impresses with its high level of detail, modern technology and numerous digital functions - ideal for main and branch lines with a realistic operating image.

Authentic appearance of the 1990s

The legendary VT 98/VS 98 was in service on German branch lines for decades. In Era V, the "Ulmer Spatz" was given the typical mint green livery of DB AG. This model conversion impresses with its precise proportions, clear printing and an illuminated train destination display - a highlight for all fans of modern rail bus use.

Technically mature for optimum direct current operation

A powerful miniature motor with flywheels ensures smooth running, supported by an integrated buffer capacitor for uninterrupted running performance - even on points or dirty tracks. The power car and control car can be coupled in a current-conducting manner, allowing full utilization of the lighting functions with a clear view through the passenger compartments.

Digitally prepared with sound retrofit option

The model is equipped with an NEM 658 PluX22 interface and is ready for simple digitization. A PIKO sound decoder (#56570) with a large loudspeaker can be retrofitted for the optimum sound experience. The factory-installed interior lighting can be switched digitally, as can the direction-dependent light change in white/red.
