The Piko 52382 M44 diesel locomotive from MÁV brings one of the most important shunting locomotives in Eastern Europe to your H0 model railway layout in a finely detailed DC version with factory-fitted sound decoder. With its robust construction, powerful technology and long service life, the M44 stands for reliability and versatility in daily shunting and transfer traffic in Era III like hardly any other locomotive.

Compact power for daily use

Equipped with the all-Jendrassik XVI 170/240 V16 engine and a top speed of 80 km/h, the M44 was a real all-rounder in heavy shunting operations. Its robust technology, simple maintenance and striking design with a driver's cab at the end of the vehicle made it indispensable, particularly on industrial tracks, in freight yards and on the state railroad MÁV. The locomotive also enjoyed great popularity in neighboring countries.

Model version with a high level of detail

The PIKO model appears in the typical MAV design and impresses with numerous attached details such as sand boxes, sand pipes, brake shoes and an MAV-style exhaust. An illuminated driver's desk and digitally switchable driver's cab lighting (in digital mode) complete the visual features. Brake hoses and coupling hooks are included for additional equipment - ideal for presentation in the display case or on the layout.

Sound & digital technology integrated as standard

The locomotive is equipped ex works with a high-quality PSD XP sound decoder with many functions, which realistically reproduces the characteristic sound of the M44. The direction of travel-dependent light change in white/red also ensures an authentic operating impression, especially in combination with digital control.

Technically reliable and ready for use

With a clearance of 130 mm, two traction tires and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive is ideally suited for use on all standard H0 DC layouts. Coupling is via an NEM shaft with close coupling link - ideal for precise coupling in shunting service.
