The Piko 52384 T445.0 diesel locomotive brings an iconic ČSD vehicle from Era III to your H0 DC layout. This locomotive is based on the proven Hungarian M44 series and was exported to Czechoslovakia in the 1950s and 60s, where it was used as a reliable all-purpose locomotive in shunting services, light line services and in industrial operations.

Proven technology with a functional design

The T445.0 series was particularly easy to maintain thanks to its robust design, simple electrics and good accessibility. Its classic B'B' design with a central driver's cab gave the locomotive crew an excellent view of the track area - a great advantage for shunting work. The PIKO model implements these characteristics precisely and in great detail.

Model version with a high level of detail

The locomotive appears in the version with the body of the zero series and is equipped with numerous filigree add-on parts: These include an additional tank, air conditioning unit, speedometer, horn, fine handles and steps as well as round sockets. Brake hoses and coupling hooks are included as accessories for use as a showcase model.

Digital preparation and light functions

Equipped with an NEM 658 PluX22 interface, the model is prepared for the subsequent installation of a sound decoder (e.g. PIKO #56646). The cab lighting can be switched in digital mode (decoder required), while the direction-dependent light change in white/red is already available as standard.

For safe use on all H0 layouts

With a clearance of 130 mm, two traction tires and a close coupler link according to NEM, the locomotive is ideally suited for operation on radii from 358 mm. Its compact dimensions and high tractive power make it the ideal choice for realistic shunting and industrial use of the ČSD in Era III.
