Piko 52505 H0-diesel locomotive NOHAB 1149, Altmark Rail, Ep.VI, DC sound Product Details

Description

About the prototype: The NOHAB is a European license version of an American standard locomotive of the F series from EMD, a subsidiary of GM at the time. The designation was created by the licensee Nydqvist och Holm AB (NOHAB). The locomotives were used in a large number of European countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Spain and Luxembourg. The locomotive's appearance is characterized above all by its round nose ("bulldog nose") at the top of the locomotive with narrow windows sloping downwards at the sides. The locomotives were used by various state railroads, but over time they also passed into the ownership of various private companies.

About the model: One of these private companies is Altmark Rail, whose paintwork from Era VI is reproduced by Piko in this model. The paintwork is reproduced very precisely and realistically, as are the structural features of the original. A powerful motor with 2 flywheel masses provides plenty of tractive power and great running characteristics. The Plux22 interface of the motor is equipped with a sound decoder, which provides a clear, powerful and realistic sound and makes the many light and sound functions digitally controllable.
