The Piko H0 AC sound diesel locomotive class 228 in the Cargo Logistic Rail version combines historic GDR technology with modern private railroad operation. The former V 180, later BR 228, was one of the DR's most powerful diesel locomotives and impressed with its versatility and reliability. In the six-axle version with high headlights, it appears here as an AC model with a factory-installed sound decoder and mfx® function - ready for immediate use on Märklin layouts.

Prototypical and full of functions

The model features finely detailed bogies, free-standing handrails and a striking front with high-mounted headlights. The PIKO TrainSound® decoder provides a true-to-original sound carpet and makes operation an acoustic experience. The mfx® compatibility enables automatic registration with compatible digital control centers. The white/red light change depending on the direction of travel ensures a realistic appearance when running.
