Novelty 2023: Variant of the DB BR 798 rail bus in Era IV. With the models of the legendary VT 98/VS 98 rail bus of the German Federal Railroad, PIKO offers a vehicle with many highlights that is perfectly adapted for use on model railway main and branch lines. The illuminated train destination indicators on the sides are a real eye-catcher. The railcar is powered by a powerful miniature motor, which is equipped with flywheels for perfect running characteristics, and has a factory-fitted buffer capacitor for optimum running characteristics without sound interruptions. The motor car and cab control car can be coupled together using current-conducting close coupler kinematics. The lighting functions of both cars, including the lamps above the driver's cabs, can be switched separately. Despite the design of the motor car and cab control car, a clear view through the passenger compartments is possible. The railcar can also be used prototypically as a traction unit for hauling individual freight cars. The railcar has a PluX22 interface for easy digitization and is prepared for retrofitting sound with the largest possible loudspeaker.
