Description

With the newly designed model of the VT 2.09 rail bus of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, PIKO meets a frequently mentioned wish of many model railroaders for a contemporary, detailed and also operationally suitable version of the well-known Ferkeltaxe. Following the development of the innovative control logic of the DB rail bus, for which PIKO received the Golden Track 2017, it is now obvious to implement the widespread counterpart from East Germany with a corresponding logic with great attention to detail. The railcar is driven by a powerful miniature motor, which is equipped with flywheels for perfect running characteristics and has a factory-fitted buffer capacitor for optimum running characteristics without sound interruptions. The drive acts on both axles of the railcar. The motor car and cab control car can be coupled together using current-conducting close coupler kinematics. The lighting functions of both vehicles can be switched separately, allowing a clear view through the passenger compartments. For example, the traction unit automatically registers whether a driving trailer is attached and then switches off the lighting between the vehicles. The PIKO Ferkeltaxe is prepared for uncomplicated retrofitting with sound and the largest possible loudspeaker. The AC model is already equipped ex works with a suitable mfx-compatible PluX22 decoder.
