The Piko H0 AC sound diesel railcar class 772 with control car brings the cult railcar of the Deutsche Reichsbahn now fully digitized with mfx® compatibility to your Märklin/AC layout. The railcar that was once introduced as the VT 2.09 was built starting in 1965 and characterized DR regional and branch line operation for decades. The combination with control cars allowed push-pull train operation without switching - ideal for small stations.

Digital comfort & sophisticated technology

The railcar has factory-installed interior lighting in both cars, which can be switched separately digitally. The powerful motor ensures reliable operation, while the vehicle automatically detects whether a control car is coupled. The train destination display can be switched digitally, and the PIKO TrainSound® sound decoder provides realistic sounds. Thanks to the mfx® function, the model is automatically recognized by Märklin digital command stations.

Class 772 - Local transportation legend of the GDR

The "Ferkeltaxe" was a milestone in GDR local transportation: light, economical and flexible. With over 180 units built and numerous conversions (including driving trailers), it was indispensable until well into the post-reunification period.
