The Piko 52936 Whitcomb ACL diesel locomotive is an impressive replica of the BR 65-DE-19-A USA TC in its operational version for the Atlantic Coast Line (ACL). This beautifully shaped locomotive has been precisely reproduced with all country-specific details. Thanks to the factory-installed PIKO sound decoder and a powerful loudspeaker, it provides a particularly realistic driving experience. The locomotive has a digital interface in accordance with NEM 658 PluX22, which makes it easy to add further digital functions.
The class 65-DE-19-A diesel locomotives were built during the Second World War for use by the US Transportation Corps (TC). After the war ended, some of these locomotives found their way to various private railroads, including the Atlantic Coast Line (ACL), where they were used in freight and switching service. These powerful locomotives were characterized by their robust construction and versatility.
The Piko Whitcomb ACL impresses with its detailed reproduction with fine printing and prototypical color scheme. The striking design with angular driver's cab and side ventilation grilles has been reproduced exactly. The model also has digitally switchable driver's cab lighting and a light change depending on the direction of travel (white/red), which enhances the realistic impression.
The locomotive is factory-equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder, which produces a variety of realistic locomotive sounds. In addition to engine noises, typical shunting signals can also be called up. Thanks to the digitally switchable driver's cab lighting, the model offers an authentic operating image. The NEM coupler pocket with close coupler link ensures a prototypical vehicle spacing.
Thanks to its detailed implementation and digital equipment, the Piko Whitcomb ACL is perfect for model railroaders looking for an authentic US diesel locomotive. Its realistic sound and high-quality lighting functions make it a real highlight on any H0 layout.
The Piko 52936 Whitcomb ACL diesel locomotive combines historical precision with the latest digital technology. Whether as a shunting locomotive or in light mainline
