Piko 52968 H0-diesel locomotive V 160 010, DB, Ep.III, DC sound Product Details

Description

About the original: The V160 was developed at the end of the 1950s until the beginning of the 1960s for the DB as a single-engine, medium-duty mainline diesel locomotive. The pre-series models were built in 1960, the series locomotives from 1964-1968. As local passenger coaches were no longer steam-heated from 1998, the locomotives were transferred to the DB Cargo fleet and were initially used for freight transport. The last DB V160 was taken out of service in 2004. Some locomotives were sold to private railroad companies or abroad, e.g. to Italy and France, where some of them are still in use today.

About the model: With this model of the V160, Piko offers a precise replica that reproduces all the details of the original excellently. One of the most important details is the flat vehicle head, which distinguished the main series models from the pre-series models with a rounded head. Various engravings, excellent paintwork and a detailed chassis complete the fantastic and extremely realistic look. In addition to this, a powerful motor with excellent running characteristics, together with a variety of light and sound functions, make for an all-round successful model.
