The Piko H0 Desiro diesel railcar from DB AG in the eye-catching bwegt livery stands for modern local transportation in southwest Germany. The Desiro multiple unit developed by Siemens has been used in regional transportation since the 2000s - with high passenger comfort and good performance even on non-electrified routes. The model shown here corresponds to the current Era VI and bears the "bwegt" design of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
The two-part model offers a clear view into the passenger compartment, factory-switchable interior lighting and detailed interior fittings. The detailed printing in true-to-original bwegt design rounds off the harmonious overall picture. The white/red light change depending on the direction of travel is included as standard.
With its modular design, low entry heights and robust diesel drive, the Desiro has proven to be the ideal regional train for routes without overhead lines. In Baden-Württemberg, it operates on many lines in the striking bwegt design.
The model is equipped with an NEM 652 interface and can be retrofitted with a PIKO sound decoder (#56581). A special coupling for multiple traction is included - perfect for long Desiro train sets.
For model railroaders with a focus on modern local traffic, regional train scenarios in southwest Germany and multi-train operation. Also ideal for digital operating layouts thanks to the multiple traction option.
Get the Piko 52979 H0 Desiro railcar "bwegt " - up-to-date, attractive and ready for daily model railroad use.
