Compartment coach B4p 2nd class DR Ep. IIIIn 1899, the Saxon State Railroad began building pure 2nd class coaches, which were intended for passenger and express train service. As with the previous coaches, the arrangement and number of compartments and compartments determined the length of the coach body. The coaches had a total of eight upholstered class compartments and three compartments between the seats.

The lighting was provided by gas tanks fitted under the carriages. The bogie corresponded to the standard Prussian design with pressed side cheeks. The heating was powered by steam from the locomotives. Some coaches were fitted with raised brakeman's cabs. After the Second World War, the carriages remained in various parts of Europe and were even used in isolated cases until the 1970s.
