The PIKO 54304 represents a typical open freight car of the Polish State Railways (PKP) in Era III. Such wagons were part of the backbone of Eastern European freight traffic in the post-war period and were mainly used for the transportation of coal, ballast, wood and bulk goods of all kinds. The model is ideal for classic freight train compositions of the 1950s and 1960s.
The sides of the wagon are finished with a realistic wood reproduction, which gives the model a particularly authentic character. Freestanding mounted handles and other filigree add-on parts underline the high level of detail. The harmonious color scheme and lettering are based on the appearance of the PKP in Era III.
With a length over buffers of 105 mm, the wagon is also ideally suited for more compact layouts. The excellent rolling characteristics enable smooth operation even in longer train sets. The car is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link. Conversion with AC exchange wheel sets (item no. 56060) is easily possible for use on AC systems.
The PIKO 54304 is aimed at model railroaders aged 14 and over who want to bring a piece of Polish railroad history to their layout. As a versatile freight car, it can be used both in single operation and in realistic train sets - ideal for Era III fans with an Eastern European focus.
