With the Piko 54494 mail freight car, PIKO brings a typical vehicle of the German Federal Post Office (DBP) from Era IV to the H0 model railroad layout. As a variant of a standard mail wagon, this model is ideal for use on main and branch lines and authentically reflects the characteristic postal traffic of the 1970s and 1980s.
The DBP mail freight wagons were an integral part of numerous passenger trains and were used to transport letters, parcels and freight. The model from PIKO impresses with its harmonious proportions and realistic implementation - ideal for depicting typical postal train formations or individual wagons in mixed operation.
Equipped with very good running characteristics, the wagon is perfectly suited for operation on all common H0 track systems. With a length over buffers of 143 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the model can be flexibly integrated into a wide variety of train sets - whether in InterCity, local traffic or on branch lines.
