The type 401Ka four-axle boxcar of the Polish State Railways (PKP) is a typical example of the robust freight traffic of Era IV. The model from PIKO reproduces this prototype in H0 with great attention to detail and is ideal for all model railroaders who want to add authentic rolling stock to their freight train operations.
The side walls and doors of the wagon are elaborately reproduced and reflect the design of the prototype very well. Freestanding handrails and finely detailed bogies underline the high-quality overall impression of this model. The accurate paintwork and lettering are appropriate for Era IV and ensure a realistic appearance on the layout.
Thanks to its excellent running characteristics, this car is not only a visual but also an operational asset for every freight train. It also runs safely through tight radii and can be easily integrated into existing train formations thanks to its standardized couplers.
The PKP freight wagon can be integrated into both purely Polish train formations and international mixed trains. Its typical design makes it particularly versatile - whether for the transportation of general cargo or as a component of historical operational displays.
