The Piko 58861 B4yg conversion car brings one of the most important vehicle concepts of the post-war period to your H0 layout. Developed from the urgent need for modern passenger coaches, the conversion coach program of the German Federal Railroad was a milestone in the vehicle renewal of the 1950s.

Efficient conversion for growing passenger traffic

The reuse of underframes and bogies from older coaches in combination with new steel superstructures resulted in robust and functional vehicles that achieved a new level of performance for local and express trains at 120 km/h. The central entrances with double doors without a central pillar and the door seals used for the first time significantly improved comfort and safety.

Model conversion with Pennsylvania bogies

This model of the B4yg conversion coach is equipped with Pennsylvania bogies and realistically reflects the B4yg-58 design. The intricate details such as attached brake cylinders, battery boxes, toilet pipes as well as fine handles and steps make the car a real highlight on your layout.

Impressive technology

Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, the car can be easily integrated into existing train sets. The retrofitting of interior lighting and tail light is prepared and enables a realistic representation in operation.
