With the GTW 2/8 diesel railcar, PIKO is bringing a particularly popular model of modern regional transportation to the H0 model railway layout. In the Era VI version as a three-car Arriva multiple unit, the model embodies modern rail travel at regional level. The GTW 2/8 from PIKO appears under item number 59136 and belongs to the H0 gauge. The model is based on the direct current system and is assigned to era VI. It is a three-car multiple unit with an impressive length over buffers of 642 mm. The running gear is designed for a minimum radius of 358 mm and is equipped with two traction tires. The digital interface in accordance with NEM 652 allows uncomplicated retrofitting with a digital decoder. The drive concealed in a control car ensures particularly maintenance-friendly running characteristics. The railcar is also prepared for retrofitting interior lighting and sound equipment.
The multiple unit impresses with its futuristic appearance and attention to detail. The bodywork features fine engravings and the windows are separate and accurately fitted. The various head shapes, which have been faithfully reproduced, are particularly striking. The PIKO sound decoder (#56616) can also be retrofitted if desired and raises the model to an even higher technical level.
