With the Piko 59278 SM42, PIKO brings a powerful and striking diesel locomotive variant in the eye-catching yellow livery of the PNI for use in Era VI. The DC model combines precise detailing with reliable technology and is a real eye-catcher on modern model railroad layouts.
The SM42 is a well-known shunting and mainline locomotive in the Polish railroad system and has been implemented here as a printed version of the SP42. The body impresses with its intricate replicas of fan grilles, maintenance flaps, handrails and handrails. The bogies have also been provided with fine engravings that realistically depict details such as axle bearing covers and spring elements.
A powerful motor drives all four axles via two cardan shafts. Two of the axles are fitted with traction tires, making the locomotive a reliable draft horse on your layout. The white/red light change depending on the direction of travel also increases the realism when used in model railroad operation.
The model has an NEM 652 digital interface and is therefore ideally prepared for the installation of a digital decoder. The body also offers sufficient space for retrofitting a sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker - ideal for a sonorous upgrade.
The bright yellow paintwork of the PNI makes the SM42 a real eye-catcher. It is ideal for use in shunting services, on branch lines or in construction train compositions of modern Era VI layouts with an international character.
The Piko 59278 SM42 offers a strong overall package of solid technology, realistic appearance and digitization potential - now available in the model railway store!
