The PIKO 59779 is a detailed replica of the PTK Holding S-200 diesel locomotive, based on the proven T669 series from ČKD Prague. This six-axle shunting locomotive represents the modern operational version of an Eastern European locomotive classic in Era V. With fine lettering, exact shaping and numerous technical details, this model is ideal for demanding H0 freight traffic.

Prototype: Export classic with private railroad use

The T669 was originally developed for heavy shunting service in the Soviet Union and Albania and was later also successfully used by ČSD. As the S-200, numerous machines ended up with private operators such as PTK Holding, where they were used in robust everyday service in Era V. These machines are characterized by their angular design, six driven axles and their universal applicability in industry and port facilities.

Model technology and design

The locomotive is equipped with free-standing railings, true-to-original paintwork and neatly applied lettering. It has an NEM 658 PluX22 digital interface and can be retrofitted with the matching PIKO sound decoder (#56542). Two traction tires provide high tractive force, and the lights change in white/red depending on the direction of travel. The model is designed for direct current systems and has a coupler with NEM shaft and close coupler link.
