The PIKO 59795 diesel locomotive T669.0 is an authentic H0 replica of the well-known six-axle shunting locomotive of the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). This striking machine impresses with its true-to-scale realization, free-standing railings and a harmonious paint scheme - ideal for scenarios of Eastern European rail traffic in Era IV.

Prototype: T669.0 - Heavy-duty locomotive for shunting yards

The T669.0 was developed by the locomotive factory ČKD Prague on the basis of export requirements for the Soviet Union and Albania. After successful tests of the prototypes with the designations ČME (USSR) and T669.0 (ČSD), it went into series production. Its robust design and high performance quickly made it the backbone of the heavy shunting service - not only in Czechoslovakia, but in numerous Eastern European countries.

Model technology and design

The model impresses with an exact reproduction of the striking locomotive shape, free-standing mounted railings and a true-to-original color scheme with clean printing. Equipped with an NEM 658 PluX22 interface, the locomotive can be retrofitted with the matching PIKO sound decoder (#56542). Two traction tires ensure high tractive power, and the direction-dependent light change in white/red brings additional realism.
