Piko 71323 diesel locomotive BR 212 "Bahnbau", Ep. VI Product Details

Description

About the original: The DB class 212 is a more powerful further development of the original V100. A total of 381 of these locomotives were built from 1962-65. With a maximum speed of up to 100km/h, these locomotives could also be used in steep line service and on main lines. Until 2005, all BR 212s were initially decommissioned by the DB. From 2008, after modernization by the Cottbus plant, some of them were reactivated for construction train service at DB AG and private companies.

About the model: The Piko model depicts one of the class 212s, which was overhauled after being taken out of service in 2005 and later put into construction train service. The model has the typical yellow paint scheme of the DB AG construction train service and can impress with other visual highlights. These include, above all, the locomotive's cooling system, which has a freely rotating fan wheel under a finely etched grille. Further details include numerous attached parts, such as handle bars and hoses, which are particularly effective on the finely crafted bogies, as well as various engravings. A Plux22 interface enables the uncomplicated installation of a decoder, which makes the numerous light and sound functions digitally controllable. The model is moved by a powerful motor, which has excellent running characteristics and ensures high tractive power.
