The BB 60000 is a modern French diesel locomotive that was specially designed for heavy shunting service as well as light freight train service. Developed and built by Vossloh, the locomotive impresses with its high efficiency, robust technology and reliability in daily operation. With a maximum speed of 100 km/h and a centrally located driver's cab, the locomotive is ideal for flexible use on the SNCF network in Era VI.

Detailed design and high-quality appearance

The PIKO 96494 impressively implements the characteristic features of the BB 60000 in H0 scale. Fine fan grilles, sharply engraved bogie covers and free-standing railings and handrails give the model a realistic appearance. The detailed driver's cab interior rounds off the high-quality overall impression and makes the model a real eye-catcher even when stationary.

Digital equipment with prototypical sound

A PluX22 sound decoder is installed at the factory, which provides an authentic sound pattern - from the typical engine start to idling noises and speed step sounds. The digitally switchable driver's cab lighting allows atmospheric operating scenes, especially at dusk or during night operation. The light changes in white/red depending on the direction of travel and corresponds to the prototypes of Era VI.

Technical reliability for direct current operation

The locomotive is designed for operation on H0 direct current systems and can be used on all commercially available track systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm without any problems. Two traction tires provide the necessary traction for shunting or track service. Coupling is via a close coupler link with NEM shaft and enables simple integration into existing freight and shunting formations.
