With the Piko 97507 electric locomotive 1008 of the Dutch State Railways (NS), you can experience a fascinating chapter of European railroad history on your H0 DC layout. The locomotive is based on the famous Swiss SBB Ae 4/6, but was adapted for the Dutch DC network and was mainly used for freight traffic from 1948 to 1982.

Historical model - modern implementation

Originally intended for express train service, the class 1000 was mainly used for freight traffic. The model shows locomotive 1008 in an authentic Era III design with two filigree metal scissor pantographs, harmonious paintwork and sharply contoured lettering.

Digitally prepared for maximum function

The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 interface and prepared for retrofitting with a PIKO sound decoder #56632 and the largest possible loudspeaker. After installing a decoder, the cab and engine room lighting can be controlled digitally.

Technically sophisticated and reliable

With a clearance of 187 mm, NEM shafts with close coupler link and a light change depending on the direction of travel (white/red), the locomotive is suitable for operation on all standard H0 layouts. Two traction tires ensure reliable traction - even with longer trains.
