With the Piko 97509 class 1000 electric locomotive, you can bring a technical highlight of Dutch railroad history to your H0 layout. The AC version of this locomotive is equipped with a factory-integrated PIKO TrainSound® decoder and realistically reflects the condition of Era III.

Based on Swiss technology - in the service of the NS

The 1000 series of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) was used between 1948 and 1982. It was technically based on the SBB Ae 4/6, but was adapted to the Dutch direct current system. Although originally built for express train services between major Dutch cities, the locomotives were used almost exclusively for freight services during their service life. Of the ten locomotives built, only the 1010 has survived and can be viewed today in the Utrecht Railway Museum.

Technically mature - implemented true to the original

PIKO has realized this historic prototype with a highly detailed model: two filigree metal scissor pantographs, detailed paintwork and lettering as well as a prototypical roof design. The driver's cab and engine room are digitally illuminated with switchable lighting and significantly increase the authenticity in model operation.

Sound & equipment for the highest demands

The factory-installed PluX22 sound decoder offers a wide range of realistic sound functions. The locomotive is equipped with a white/red LED light change depending on the direction of travel and offers excellent running characteristics thanks to precise technology and two traction tires for strong tractive power.
