Description

Roco 6200180 H0 Set of 2 railroad mail coaches - ÖBB, Era IV-V, Jaffa design

The Roco 6200180 is a wagon set with a wide variety of shapes with two four-axle railroad mail wagons of the Post-m class in the characteristic Jaffa livery of the Austrian Post, employed by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). The set shows typical versions from Era IV-V with many prototypical changes to the car body and running gear.

Shape variant with typical details of the railroad post office

Prototype: ÖBB railroad mail wagon

Built by Simmering-Graz-Pauker on the basis of the Eurofima design, these cars were used for sorting mail during the journey. They were used in passenger, express and express train services - even across borders to Germany, e.g. in the Allgäu region as part of diversionary services.
