The Roco 6200202 class Bge standard express train car brings a piece of German railroad history to your H0 layout. As a 2nd class coach of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in Era IV, it represents the proven 1928 type standard express train coaches, which were still in use in the GDR for a long time in high-quality express train service due to a lack of vehicles. This model appears for the first time as an authentic Era IV version and is a prototypical addition to any DR train set.

Historical background

Starting in 1928, the DRG built riveted all-steel cars that characterized the image of express trains and express trains until well into the post-war period. While the Deutsche Bundesbahn largely phased out these carriages after the 1960s, the DR used them for much longer in the GDR. They were therefore a characteristic part of many train formations of the 1970s and early 1980s.

Finely detailed design

The model impresses with its high-quality implementation with separately attached plug-in parts and finely reproduced bogies. The riveted side walls and the classic design are faithfully reproduced. Inside, the car has a complete interior, which is prepared for additional lighting.

Technical equipment

Equipped with an NEM 362 shaft and close coupler kinematics, the car is designed for safe operation in trains. Retrofitting with interior lighting (item no. 40360) is possible so that the car can also be used in night and twilight scenes. A suitable wheel set (item no. 40196) is available for AC operation.

For realistic express train scenarios

With a length over buffers of 249 mm, the car is ideal for use in typical DR express trains of Era IV. It looks particularly authentic in combination with other 1st and 2nd class standard express train coaches as well as the matching DR locomotives - whether steam, diesel or electric locomotive.
