The Roco 6200211 WRg dining car is an authentic model of the German State Railroad from Era IV. This car was an integral part of many DR express trains and offered passengers the opportunity to have a meal during the journey. With a finely detailed design, complete interior fittings and the option of retrofitting interior lighting, this dining car is a realistic addition to any train composition.

Prototype and use

Dining cars were part of the upscale equipment of long-distance and express trains. They were also indispensable for longer journeys in the GDR. In the 1970s and 1980s, WRg coaches were regularly used in high-quality passenger trains and provided comfort and service on long journeys. The model is based exactly on these prototypes and brings an important piece of passenger train culture to the model railroad.

Detailed model realization

The model is equipped with numerous fine details. The entire interior is clearly visible through the large windows and realistically reproduces the characteristic dining room. With a buffer length of 270 mm, the car is an impressive vehicle that is both visually and technically impressive.

Technical equipment

The car has a coupler pocket in accordance with NEM 362 with close coupling kinematics for prototypical train formations. Retrofitting with interior lighting (item no. 40360) is possible without any problems, so that the car is also shown to its best advantage on the layout at night. An AC wheel set (item no. 40196) is available for Märklin layouts.

Indispensable for DR trains of Era IV

The WRg dining car is the perfect addition for DR express trains in Era IV and fits harmoniously in combination with standard express train cars, sleeping cars and Mitropa cars. This allows realistic train compositions of the Deutsche Reichsbahn to be recreated.
