City-Bahn - The successful project of the German Federal Railroad

The eye-catching orange and silver-grey color scheme of the City-Bahn was introduced in 1984 to make the Cologne-Gummersbach line more attractive. With upgraded push-pull trains, frequent service and an eye-catching design, DB succeeded in creating a showcase project that helped to save many branch lines. The BDnf 784 with luggage compartment shown here was an integral part of this concept - today faithfully reproduced on a scale of 1:87.

The control car has an integrated PluX16 digital decoder for DCC operation. The direction of travel-dependent light change (white/red) works in both analog and digital operation. In addition, the train destination display can be illuminated separately in digital operation. Retrofitting with interior lighting (item no. 4000005) is also possible.

Detailed design and high compatibility

The car is equipped with an NEM 362 coupler pocket and close coupler link and can be perfectly combined with other Silberlingen or City-Bahn cars - ideally with the matching class 218. The fully finished interior completes the high-quality overall picture.
