Roco 6280045 TT 2-tlg. Set 1: double-decker „Sputnik“, DR, Ep. IV Product Details

Description

Roco 6280045 TT 2-piece set 1: Double-decker car "Sputnik", DR, Ep. IV - with control car and light change

The Roco 6280045 two-piece double-decker car set brings authentic local traffic of the GDR era directly to your TT layout. Consisting of a 2nd class double-decker car (class DBmu) and a 2nd class double-decker control car (class DBmq), this set is a central element for all model railroaders who want to realistically recreate the Berlin local traffic of Era IV. The red/beige "Sputnik" paint scheme and the integrated function decoder with light change make this set a special highlight for collectors and operating railroaders.

Technology and equipment - prototypically implemented

The set has an overall length over buffers of 446 mm and is designed for TT gauge (1:120). Both wagons have NEM 358 shafts with close coupling kinematics, which enables stable and realistic running of the wagons. The control car is equipped with an on-board function decoder that enables a light change depending on the direction of travel (white/red) in analog and digital operation - a special technical feature for this car category.

Detailed interior fittings and lighting options

Both cars are equipped with a complete interior. Retrofitting with interior lighting (item number 4080001) is easily possible and provides additional authenticity, especially in twilight or night operation. The LED headlights ensure energy-efficient and low-maintenance lighting.

Historical background - DR Sputnik trains

In 1971, VEB Waggonbau Görlitz delivered two prototypes of the double-decker single carriages to the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Due to their positive operating experience, series production of around 138 wagons followed from 1974. These vehicles were used on heavily frequented routes and in conurbations - especially in Berlin's local transport network. There they were given the characteristic red-beige color scheme and became known under the nickname "Sputnik".

Indispensable for Era IV local transport scenarios

The 6280045 set is the perfect basis for realistic DR Era IV local traffic compositions. It can be ideally combined with the supplementary wagon set 6280046 to form complete train formations. The characteristic look of these carriages is particularly effective in urban scenarios or on main lines.

For discerning model railroaders and collectors

With its technical features, unique color scheme and historical relevance, this set is aimed at model railroaders who value authentic operation and collector quality. The integrated light change in the control car clearly sets this set apart from other double-decker car models.

Scope of delivery and equipment

The set includes a 2nd class double-decker coach and a 2nd class driving trailer, both with interior fittings. The cab control car is equipped with a function decoder for changing lights. Retrofitting with interior lighting is possible as an option. The packaging is sturdy and reliably protects the models.
