Roco 6600216 H0 Set of 2 open freight cars, PKP, Era III

The Roco 6600216 set includes two "Villach" type open freight cars of the Polish State Railways (PKP) in Era III. These cars are typical representatives of post-war freight traffic and were used universally for transporting a wide variety of bulk and general cargo. With their sturdy construction and authentic design, they bring a piece of railroad history to the model railroad.

Prototype and use

The "Villach" type open freight cars were built in large numbers and used in many European countries. They were widely used on the Polish State Railways in Era III and were used to transport coal, ore, wood and other bulk goods. Due to their versatility, they were an indispensable part of numerous freight trains in domestic and international traffic.

Composition of wagons

The set contains two cars in different designs, which provides variety in the train set:

• One car without a brakeman's cab, class Wddo
• One wagon with brakeman's cab, class Wddoh

This allows authentic train formations of the PKP of Era III to be represented, as they were in daily use on many routes.

Model realization

The two coaches are finely detailed and have prototypical engravings and lettering. With a total length over buffers of 232 mm, they fit perfectly into typical freight trains of the post-war period. The different designs with and without brakeman's cab make the set particularly varied.

Technical features

The cars have NEM 362 coupler pockets with close coupler kinematics, which makes safe and prototypical operation possible. The cars can be equipped with AC wheel sets (item no. 6560) for use on Märklin layouts. The set is intended for operation in the direct current system (DC Analog).
