Aboutthe prototype: From 1882 to 1910, approx. 1,550 type T3 tender locomotives of various designs were delivered to the Prussian State Railroad (K.P.E.V.) and other state railroads. As a Cn2 design, the M III-4p version of the locomotive had a friction load of 36 t and could travel at the maximum speed of 40 km/h with a power output of 300 PSi. The Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) took delivery of 511 units and placed them in its inventory under the designation BR 89.70-75. The Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) still had locomotives of this class in service on branch lines and as factory locomotives until 1968.
